I'm a bit slow to get into the Olympics this time around. We have watched snowboarding and some figure skating so far. I recorded the Opening Ceremonies (since we were out that night) and I hope to watch it soon. I did get into the spirit enough to make this banner a few days ago.
I found the flags printable
here. There are 100 flags. Yes, I cut them all out. I was watching Netflix while I did it. I glued them onto red baker's twine. Here is a close up of the banner. The names of the country are on the back of each flag. It is educational!
My pastor mentioned in church on Sunday that his favourite part of the Olympics is the Parade of Nations. I agree. There is something inspiring about seeing all those people who are so diverse in language, culture, and religion all coming together for a common goal and purpose. How rare it is to see that. My pastor said that he looks forward to the parade of nations in heaven when God will gather worshipers from among the nations. I too long for that day.
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
