Tie One On - Spring Garland

I started creating my Spring mantle but it needed something more. I decided to make a green rag garland. I made one before with a Christmas theme but that was fabric tied on a string of lights.

I bought 6 fat quarters (2 of each design) and a 1/4 yard of another fabric in various shades of green. I cut 1 3/4 inch by 9 inch strips. I used bakers twine to tie the fabric onto. Here is the finished project.

385. pretending our oldest son is still little enough to carry in a laundry basket.
386. my youngest son loves to listen to Christian music on the radio.
387. the start of gardening season. I love to get my hand dirty again.

390. the school band and orchestra concert was enjoyable.

394. finding a family movie we can enjoy together - this week it was Holes.
395. 47 years of life. Yes, it is my birthday this coming week. :)
396. my youngest will be in Math Olympics this year.

398. making good progress de-cluttering in the garage. I reduced a pile of 10 boxes down to 5.
399. a mild winter. I'm thankful we didn't have a hard winter like those who live on the east coast.
400. my husband enjoys teaching our sons to play baseball. He doesn't play video games. :)

Succulents

I love succulents. I also love antiques. This combines the two. I found this wood tray at Ruffles and Rust, I believe. That was back in the fall. I knew exactly what I would do with it and this weekend I did it.

I bought ten mini succulent plants from Home Depot and filled up this tray. I labelled the plants since they have fun names like "baby toes." Some of the labels won't stay on, however.

I need to keep the tray inside until the weather warms up more. It is very portable, though. :)Pin It

I haven't done one of these in a long time. I hope to get back in the habit of posting one photo that captures something from the week that I want to remember.

The photo above is actually from last week. My oldest son's first concert in Beginning Band. He plays the bass drum. It was a great concert that included Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Band and also various levels of Orchestra. It wasn't painful to listen to, as I had feared. :) Lots of fun music including September by Earth, Wind, and Fire. It was fun to watch the Intermediate band's bass drum player and see what A will be like next year.Pin It
